Assistant Professor of School Psychology


The Counseling & Psychological Services Dept. at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time Assistant Professor position to teach in the School Psychology Program.

Posting Date: September 27, 2023

Review Date: Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience plus full New York State benefits package.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Professor of School Psychology will teach a range of graduate-level courses in the school psychology preparation program. This person will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity, conduct advisement, and participate in university and professional service.
  • Additionally, the Assistant Professor will be expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to graduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Earned Doctorate in School Psychology or related field by time of appointment
  • Eligibility for New York State Certification in School Psychology
  • Experience working as a school psychologist in a public school setting
  • Ability to address issues of diversity in the provision of school psychological services

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in writing and/or implementing educational grants
  • Membership in and experience with professional organizations at the state and national levels
