Assistant Professor of Clinical - Pediatrics, Gastroenterology
Department/Hospital: Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking a full-time faculty. Candidates must have an MD/DO, be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Gastroenterology and Nutrition and licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.
Candidates will be at the Assistant Professor level in the clinical educator track. We encourage applicants with interest in neurogastroenterology or other specific interests within pediatric gastroenterology. The Pediatric GI faculty member will have demonstrated both clinical and scholarly expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups.
Duties include providing direct patient care to pediatric patients seen at the 250-bed Holtz Children's Hospital at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. We also have different clinic sites within Miami. Our motility program, first in South Florida, includes colorectal medicine, aerodigestive conditions and functional GI and motility disorders. We have an ample referral base nationally and internationally. The Pediatric GI Division works closely with the Miami Transplant Institute (no service coverage is required) and UM's Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center. Our patients come from both within our region and, because of our unique geographical position, from the Caribbean, Central and South America and internationally.
The Division is very productive under a supportive research environment, and we welcome applicants with an interest to conduct innovative research on either clinical or translational science fields. The Department of Pediatrics has a large residency program, and the GI Division operates a fellowship program. Faculty also will have the opportunity to mentor research efforts from residents and medical students.
Please apply to this posting and send your CV to Miguel Saps MD, Division Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition; via email at msaps@med.miami.edu.
