Overview:

Quinnipiac University is searching for an Assistant Director for Student Success and Leadership to support the university's commitment to educational equity and leadership development, and championing traditionally underrepresented students' access and retention success. Reporting to the Office of Inclusive Excellence and in partnership with Academic Affairs, you will be at the forefront of advocating for educational equity, promoting student enrollment and success, and shaping the future of emerging leaders through the Sawhney Leadership Fellows Program. This position will be 75% in the Office of Inclusive Excellence, 25% in the Office of Academic Affairs.

Simultaneously this position will coordinate a leadership development program tailored to the unique needs of Sawhney Leadership Fellows, fostering their growth as transformational leaders.   • Coordinate programs and activities related to access, academic support, and enrichment programming for traditionally underrepresented students such as the QUEST Mentoring Program, QU First Year Immersion, Leadership Retreats and offer individual support
  • Support the planning, development, implementation, and administration of student success, access, and retention initiatives in collaboration with key units
  • Provide (programming, consultation, and capacity building with key stakeholders to address barriers to access and success for traditionally underrepresented students in higher education
  • Oversee the evaluation and communication of Program Goals and Outcome metrics and make recommendations for increasing student success and engagement outcomes for the targeted populations
  • Collaborate with university partners to support traditionally underrepresented student access and success on campus
  • Assist with recruiting targeted student populations for participation transition programs; advocate (for current and prospective undergraduate students who demonstrate academic and/or financial need
  • Publicize and communicate program efforts through internal, external, conference, and other publication efforts; implement communication and outreach methods, as well as the creation of programming calendars
  • Serve on relevant University and external committees and task forces
  • -Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive leadership development program for Sawhney Leadership Fellows
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to Sawhney Leadership Fellows, offering guidance and fostering a nurturing and inclusive community.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for new scholars, identifying promising students with a strong commitment to leadership and academic excellence
  • Continuously assess and improve the Sawhney Leadership Fellows Program through ongoing evaluation and feedback mechanisms
  • Cultivate relationships with local and national organizations to facilitate opportunities for scholars to engage in leadership-related activities and projects
  • Foster a sense of community among Sawhney Leadership Fellows and alumni, promoting networking and ongoing support
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years' of experience in student programming, in equity and inclusion or a related discipline
  • Experience with coordinating programs and activities related to access, academic support, and enrichment programming for traditionally underrepresented students
  • Demonstrated experience with student mentoring and/or advising
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated analytical skills working data for managing goals and outcome metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
