About the Role:

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Financial Analysis, performs accounting, reporting, and analysis function for NGHS. Responsible for management and review of provider statements for all clients for the purpose of providing information relating to the profitability, performance, compensation and management within the practices. Initiates processes with NGHS personnel to maintain accurate, up-to-date methodologies as they relate to the treatment of revenues, expenses and compensation issues

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications:
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor degree in Accounting, Statistics, Finance , Business, or Health Administration
  • Minimum Experience: Two (2) years public or private accounting, or data analytical skills

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Good working knowledge of accounting cycle and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Lotus and Excel

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Reviews and analyzes keyed data as it relates to individual providers and practices.
  • Maintains up-to-date records on specific treatments of revenues, expenses, and contractual agreements as they relate to individual providers and practices.
  • Identifies material changes in circumstances that may have a potential impact on individual statements.
  • Prepares recommendations to NGPG business managers regarding treatment of revenue/expenses and compensation based on knowledge of individual providers and practices.
  • Works with NGPG operations manager and staff in coordinating and addressing relevant issues as they arise. Encourages communication between financial operations and NGPG in order to provide accurate reliable statement information for all users.
  • Coordinates efficient method for data entry & analysis. Supervises/encourages staff development.
  • Prepares all reports as requested by CFO.
  • Chooses the best method of reporting information to contain cost and provide timely reports.
  • Reviews, interprets, and analyzes financial and statistical data as requested.
  • Prepares support for compensation contract YTD information by provider for new fiscal year data keying.
  • Creates files for each provider and practice based on individual information relating to these providers and practices.
  • Assists auditors as needed regarding interpretation of data.
  • Ensures documentation of accounting and financial policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates existing procedures for recording financial transactions to determine methods of reducing time and cost of the accounting operation.
  • Informs Controller on status of the accounting operations, including potential problems.
  • Determines or reviews monthly and year-end accruals for income and expense items to ensure proper matching of revenue and expense in the accounting period.
  • Gains and maintains working knowledge of software system utilized in assigned area of responsibility through review of documentation and class attendance.
  • Establishes record retention and filing system.
