Role Summary/Purpose -
The engineer will be responsible for the reliable integration of fuel cell technology into the locomotive propulsion system. The responsibilities of this position will involve design & development of hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems for use in heavy duty applications. The engineer will establish verification and validation plans for fuel cell systems to meet stringent demands for these severe duty applications,
The engineer should have demonstrated expertise in the integration of electric propulsion systems into mobile applications, and component development necessary to meet application specific requirements... including the need to understand ambient conditions and duty cycle effects on reliability and overall life cycle cost. A broad understanding of fuel cell types, benefits, drawbacks, and future trends for each. A knowledge of locomotive to 'prime mover' interaction & integration. Accepted degrees include electrical and mechanical engineering.
