Admission Associates interact with guests in many ways including but not limited to: Meets and greets guests; sells, processes, and verifies tickets for admission and extra charge experiences, and season passes for guests entering the park and at the toll plaza.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet guests entering and exiting the park.
  • Initiates proper conversations and maintains eye contact with the guests when providing relevant information regarding rides, attractions, and special events.
  • Distributes information pamphlets describing features of the park and special events.
  • Gives concise directions when needed.
  • Interprets and analyzes guest needs and provides solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Operates cash register to admission tickets and season pass sales, balances and reconciles cash drawer and records money/coupons received.
  • Guides guests through the season pass or general admission purchase process, while utilizing sales techniques such as quantity, up-selling, and product discounts.
  • Processes payments of large sums of cash, credit cards, checks, and makes correct change.
  • Verifies credit cards and coupons with the use of electronic equipment.
  • Utilizes computer to create and process season passes, audit pass registration forms, takes photos of the guests, and ensures proper printing and distribution of the completed passes.
  • Identifies and scans different types of admission passes and coupons and verifies authenticity upon receiving these products at the front gate.
  • Stamps hands of same-day return guests.
  • Refuses admittance to guests without an admission ticket or season pass as well as those who are in violation of park policies.
  • Monitors parking, security irregularities and safety violations and notifies a supervisor or security when appropriate.
  • Uses tools provided to detect and prevent acceptance of counterfeit currency and other payment types during payment.
  • Complies with Pennsylvania Minor Labor Laws.
  • Maintains high degree of confidentiality of paperwork and information.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
  • Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
