Department Information

The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education oversees programs and initiatives in support of outstanding academic experiences for all IU Bloomington undergraduate students. It provides advising, testing, and enrichment resources for students at all stages and leads initiatives that assess, support, and improve undergraduate teaching and learning.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Acts as the administrative Support for the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice Provost, IU Undergraduate Research, Engaged Learning, and Women in STEM LLC.
  • Assists with Campus Review Boards (CRB).
  • Assists with Student Engagement Activities (Student Commencement Speaker, Fine Arts Awards, Provosts Awards, etc.)
  • Assists with Building Maintenance and Building Safety Committee.
  • Assists with hospitality, travel, purchases, etc.
  • Assists with Qualtrics and Scholarships.
  • Oversees Event Planning.
  • Oversees the Associate Vice Provosts Calendars.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
  • Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.
  • Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email.
  • Schedules and confirms appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Assists the development and implementation of administrative standards, policies and practices for the organization.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
