PURPOSE:
To supervise the Accounts Payable Department and provide leadership to employees in the Accounts Payable Department consistent with AWC principles. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and requests for disbursements.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable Staff and department.
* Develop the Accounts Payable organization through sharing information, mentoring, and acting as a coach.
* Plans day-to-day departmental operations, develops methods, and controls costs.
* Prepares weekly dashboard for Accounts Payable department.
* Prepares reconciliation AP activity for closing the AP subledger monthly.
* Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records
* Reviews Accounts Payable payments for approval.
* Responsible for annual 1099 reviews and processing.
* Responsible for resolving vendor issues.
* Prepares general ledger entries as required to correct errors.
* Administer Concur/Direct Travel program.
* Develops, implements, coordinates policies and procedures for the department; evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounts payable processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
* Performs various SOX tests as assigned by Internal Audit.
* Performs personnel reviews.
* Relies on judgment and limited experience to plan and accomplish goals.
* Performs a variety of tasks related to accounts payable operations.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise Accounts Payable Correspondents and Accounts Payable Clerk. Typically supervises a number of non-exempt employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing personnel; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Education, Experience and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or 3-5 years' experience in Accounts Payable
* 1-3 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in an ERP Accounts Payable system
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
* Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Lifting requirements are typically less than 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.



WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Typical office environment. The noise level is usually moderate. Some out-of-town travel. Occasional weekend work and some extended evening hours are required. In office working Tuesday -- Thursday.
